The first of three types of puzzles is easiest, which generally show up at the beginning of the game and used to open doors and hatches.


You'll need to take it a bit slower to solve these puzzles and keep an eye on your background in order to see if there's anything suspicious going on.


These are not your ordinary puzzles. Some have conditions that have to be met such as using specific patterns to solve. They take the longest to solve but are also the most rewarding.


Difficulties

You start off in a very eerie and dark tunneled bunker. Once out, you're greeted with a very beautiful background with a great scenic view of a lake as you explore the other areas.


One of the most beautiful spots in the game has to be the pink trees, also knows as the Somei Yoshino trees that show up in the middle part of the island.


The ruins is one of my personal favorites in the game where you'll need to use the sunlight and adjust panels in order to solve some very unique puzzles.


Maps

You can use in-game scenery to help with challenges such as apples in the Somei Yoshino trees in which the apples are key to helping solve some of the puzzles.


Use the sun in the ruins portion in order to depict hidden secrets on the panels but keep in mind you must also move the panels into the sunlight in order to reveal those secrets.


You can even use landscapes such as hedge mazes near the castle portion of the island in which you utilize the path you take which is key to solving those puzzles.

Developed by Thekla, Inc., The Witness is an open world game with dozens of locations to explore and over 500 puzzles. You wake up alone with puzzles and challenges to solve while regaining your memory as you work to find your way home. A highly recommended game that allows you to explore while training your brain too.
